George Strait Picture
George Harvey Strait (born May 18, 1952) is an American country music artist. George Strait has marked a monumental career achievement by having more number one hit singles than any living artist, a total of 52, second only to the late Conway Twitty. Out of all the new country singers to emerge in the early '80s, George Strait stayed the closest to traditional country. Drawing from both the honky tonk and Western swing traditions, Strait didn't refashion the genres; instead, he revitalized them for a new decade. In the process, he became one of the most popular and influential singers of the decade, sparking a wave of neo-traditionalist singers from Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam to Clint Black, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson.

A Little Heaven’s Rubbing Off On Me Lyrics

George Strait

I used to like
Making love then
Getting up
And never having to explain
Ive always been free
I never could see me
Dragin no ball and chain
I like running around
And being tied down
Never was my cup of tea
But since Ive been holding an angel
A little heavens rubbing off on me
And Im beginning to like just sittin and holding hands
Looking into her eyes Im thinking about future plans
And then I get the feeling that the life that Id been leading aint all its cracked
Up to be
Since Ive been holding an angel
A little heavens rubbing off on me
I used like
To spend the night
Sittin on an old bar stool
Drinkin wine and killing time
With all over those other fools
But since you took my hand
I think I understand
It aint the way it outta be
Since Ive been holding an angel
A little heavens rubbing off on me
And Im beginning to like just sittin and holding hands
Looking into her eyes Im thinking about future plans
And then I get the feeling that the life that Id been leading aint all its cracked
Up to be
Since Ive been holding an angel
A little heavens rubbing off on me
Since Ive been holding an angel
A little heavens rubbing off on me
